Hi all,

I replaced the alternator. Car cranks, no start. Replaced it all this past Friday (11 OCT 2024) with a buddy. Fuel pump primes, replaced fuel filter. The battery is still new as of October 2023. The vehicle went through a tune-up in October of 2023 as well. Replaced the ignition coil as we thought that might've been the next issue. I checked all the grounds, no issue. I'm at my wits end here. I replaced the alternator with a '89 Maxima one as my new sound system and radio require more power to run. New alternator in 90 amps vs the 70 amps on the OEM one.

 

Did you do anything to the distributer?
Have you checked for spark?
To run you need fuel, air, and spark.
I don’t remember the correct fuel pressure, probably around 50 PSI.

 

The crank angle sensor may be bad. Mine went bad and the car would not fire, no spark. You can easily test if it is getting spark by taking out 1 spark plug and seeing if it sparks.
