By how much?
Does the car run good? Any sputtering / misfires?
Does the car have a cat?
What is the timing set to?

Try a tune up & adjust down the timing if needed.

Thank you for the reply, the hyro carbons were at 3.85. 2.0 was passing. the car seems to run fine, but would guess it could use a tune up,will try that, thanks again.

Haven't check timing yet, have to wait for my friend to bring his timing light. but seeing how you brought up the timing twice, that will be definately be on the top of the list.. thanks again for the input.

It is important, because (barring some major problem w/ the motor) you can retard the timing and usually get the motor to pass. If the shop you take it to is cool, ask them to run an emissions test in just monitor mode so you can adjust some things & see the difference in real time.

thanks for the feedback from everyone. I'm in N.W. Indiana, still haven't giving up trying to fix it myself, good learning experience.
