The Evil Speed Sensors...
After switching from a digital dash to an analog dash in my 1987 NA (Automatic), I pretty much got everything working expect the speedometer. i've been searching all over for information on the net and still haven't found exactly what i need. The donor car is a 1988 NA (Manual). The 1987 has a Speed sensor on the passenger side fender near the battery. Attached is the speedometer cable. I've verified that the cable is good and spins as it should. I thought since the speed senors for the 1987-89 were electronically driven, they'd be compatible. I must be wrong. Now, the 1988 doesn't have a speed sensor where the 1987 is. So, is the speed sensor for the 1988 on the Transmission? If so, can someone shed some light on exactly what i need to do to remove it and install it on the 1987.

The 87-89 speed sensor is on the transmission. You'll need it for the 87-89 analog dash.
