headers, exhaust (dual)
is it worth it to put headers on an 86 na? also i was wondering if the engine must be pulled to put in new cams. and i saw a guy with dual exhaust pipes on his z31 turbo and i was wondering if that was possible on a non turbo.
any advice would be helpful.
thanks

Re: headers, exhaust (dual)
you're pretty limited on what you can do to the nonturbo cars. People talk well of the electric fan and headers. Porting and polishing and the Engloid Performance plenum will help air flow to the engine. If you can't get air in, it won't come out.
You can do cams in the car, but I hear you have to lift the engine just slightly...but don't really have to unhook anything but motot mounts, which are easy.

yes, you can put true duals on your z31. and headers are mostly a feel in the wallet unless you do some engine work. and if you do true duals, you'll need two cats to be legal. Then, there's the issue of the spare tire well being in the way....

Re: headers, exhaust (dual)
it depends on how you want to do it...
your best bet is to take your car to an exhaust shop and start talking with them about it.
If you do headers, it's really easy as you just don't connect the Y-pipe and run the exhaust back from there. If you retain the factory cat, you won't have a "true" dual exhaust as the exhaust was joined together in the middle.
Again, as with everything, your wallet and imagination determine the outcome.
