IACV/AR delete, idle control help!
Howdy ya'll.
Trying to finally finish up my '85 300zx NA project and get it back on the road and I'd appreciate some help real quick.
My IACV hose split completely, and I've been completely unable to find one, despite 6 different cars in 3 different junkyards and calling and checking multiple websites and individuals, and the route is just way too tight to coble together another hose to work.
Decided to just cap off the IACV and intake for the moment and adjust the idle screw to compensate for the immediate future... But the dang idle screw is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to access.
What's the best way to do adjust the screw without pulling the intake back off? I managed to get the jam nut loose on the adjust screw but can't get a tool in there to move it up or down. Or is there a better way to go about this?
Also, is the rubber caps sufficient for now or do I need to cap off the AR/IACV with an aluminum plate? The car currently runs and revs, but won't idle at all without slight throttle input, as I would expect with no idle control.
Thanks so much guys, this is the last thing I need to get this car on the road after more than 2 years.
The idle screw that I'm having trouble adjusting.
The missing hose route, capped off.
