interchangeable ECU's

I have a "1986 23710-19P03/A18-654M34 ECU" on my 86 300zx turbo but its not good anymore, an a junkyard sell me one from a 84 300zx turbo "1984 23710-02P03/A18-635374 ECU" for 65 bucks they give me 90 day warranty they say it works. but my question is would this computer work on my car? An if i does work with my car is the price right or to expensive or to cheap?

You're SOL. The only ECU you can use is from another 86 turbo. If you have a 5spd, you won't need to worry if it's an auto or manual ECU. If you have an auto, it will have to be from another automatic.

I always thought the 84-86T ECU's where the same, as I had an 86 ECU in my 85T parts car and it ran great.

So all he would have to do then is swap the o2 sensor out for the zirconium one, he's not really SOL if all he has to do is swap the o2 sensor to switch to the 84T ECU.
