lights

Re: lights
i don't think anyone makes a special headlight for that, but you can disconnect the connector that makes them pop up when you turn on your lights. if i remember right the button that flips them up manually will still function in case you do want them up. they just won't pop up when you turn on your lights.

Re: lights
for what model Z? there are a few vendors that make custom exterior kits for older Z models..if you have a 87-89 model you can get this fitted in your Z....
But for 1984-1986...im sure that same kit fits..but iv never seen it on that model before..so dont ask me..if it does..because i dont know..
And yes that is a Rb26dett engine in that Z..in case people are wondering..

WingofWar: I seriously doubt that's a kit. Most likely custom. If it is a kit, it's probably Japanese. And if that's the case, if they still make it, you'll spend more money getting the kit to the US than you would on buying a welder and all the parts to do that yourself.
Search the archives on z31.com for the instructions to make the lights stay down when you turn them on. And, they pop up when you push the button, or when you turn on your headlights. They will not go back down until you turn off your lights.

Re: lights
yeah its a kit, and your right it is in japan. But it seems they only bought the glass cover, and did head light thing themselves. Because the entire front headlight kit looks alot like the sleek Headlight kit from the RX-7, except with only 1 slot for the headlight instead of two slots like in the rx-7 as seen here.
The hood on the Z is a japanese too notice dual vents and a large vent that goes where the intake is. Im sure they make that same hood in carbon fiber as well.
Doesn't that suck that United States Residence wont see parts like that. Parts for Zs there are as common as parts for civics here..sigh..makes me wana take a trip to japan..its only a 13 hour flight..

Re: lights
just because something looks like something else doesn't mean it's a kit. If the headlights were done themselves, the plexiglass covers were done themselves as well. The hood is a regular Z31 hood that someone just cut holes in. That's not hard either.
The most difficult thing that was done on that car was making the bracket to mount the lights to. Because you have to also make it so you can adjust the lights. The more I look at it, the more I believe it's not a kit. It just doesn't look finished enough (unless it's a prototype).
