Modifying my NonTurbo

I have a manual 85NA and I want to beef it up without the use of a turbo on the VG30. I want to keep it all motor as much as possible. What im thinkin so far is headers, fuel pump, camshafts, weight reduction, electric fan, wires, fuel rail, gutted plenum, throttle body, clutch and aluminum flywheel. Ya guys have any other ideas or advice for me. I know there's much more needed and is why i am asking yall first.

Currently I am in the process of acquiring all the needed parts to upgarde the driveshaft and installation of the CLSD with turbo halfshafts at this point. In addition to replacin all the bushings and adding springs n shocks. Thanx.

A turbocharger. If you are going to dump all this $$$ just to get ~270hp, why not go turbo and for the same price get 400hp?

Anyway, it's not my money or project, so check these:

I have a self collected turbo kit which includes vg30et engine, crossmember, s-pipe, ecu, and turbocharger up for sale. I'll sell it cheap! Save time and money! Mostly time!

I already have two Z's that are 88Turbo n have some extensive work, an 85NA, and a 87NA. People here just toss these cars away like its nothing or sell them next to nothing. So i have collected quite a bit and part them out or save them and turn around and sell them as good runnin cars. I also started a Z club that is currently in the works with 4 members starting and slowly growing. Since i already have 2 that are Turbocharged, i just want one that isnt turbo but puts out a lot of power and something that i can say is all motor.

Heh. He'd be really lucky to get anywhere near 270hp without going turbo. He'd be lucky to get to 200rwhp as an NA.

Just not worth all that money spent on it when a turbo will get you there faster and cheaper and can be made more reliable.

If you really want to keep it NA, convert to carb, bump the compression to 13.5:1, custom grind a set of cams, port the **** out of the heads and plenum, knife edge and lighten the crank, lighten up the rotating assembly with aftermarket rods and lightened aftermarket cast pistons and make a set of equal length headers that straiten the exhaust pulses as much as possible. That should put you about 300HP at the crank while still having a usable powerband and still having good manners on the street.

there is a guy on hybridz that hit above the 200whp mark on motor only. i forgot where it is exactly but he did it. also you should think about the whole vg33 swap more displacement = more power you could also bore it out and go 3.5 with the vg33. thats just my 2 cents.
