That need for speed

Well congrat's on your 1st driving award, bad thing was the cop was right. I know from experience what happens going 80 on wet pavement. Z cars are not that heavy and 80 in the rain will sooner or later let you experience the dreaded hydra plane. I did 360's for about 2/10's of a mile going down the interstate before sliding into the meadian and damn near into north bond traffic. That was all it took to get me to slow down in the rain. Dry roads are another story, last ticket was 3 years ago going through Atlanta, got me doing 85 in a 55. Cost me $328.............

Lawyer up....

Cost more up front, but less than the increased insurance cost during the next three years (or more).

A connected lawyer will simply make it go away.

And you need to slow down.

Interesting fact... Approximately 3000 souls perished during the terror attacks on 09.11.01 The loss of those 3000 lives mobilized the USA and the rest of the world. Since 09.11.01 approximately 100,000 lives have been lost in automobile accidents. So, where is the "War on Accidents"?

oo oo are we sharing 1st ticket stories? I had just bought a Ford Probe, and up to that point the fastest car I had ever owned. I was on my way home from a club in SF like a 4am and no one was on the freeway. I had no idea I was going 85, than all of a sudden a CHP officer is on my ***. I was sooooo tired. and my shirt was still off. he didnt wonder about that or ask if I had just been drinking(which I hadnt). just wrote the ticket and left. never had a ticket in my Z. Im a smart speeder now

PS I used to live in fremont, I know how those cops are!

CHP nailed me doin' 80 in a 65 on I-5 in So Cal on may way to 6 flags. I was in my '85 Z. That bastard pig ruined my day. Knock on wood, but that's my only ticket.

Well...never a ticket in my Z....yet. But My first one was on I-5 South. I had a '78 Jeep (AMC) Cherokee Sport. I just put a dual 4bbl intake on the 360 under the hood and was trying it out. As I was approaching Buttonwillow (just a truck stop back then) a CHP in one of those mustangs pulled up beside me and pointed at his dash, so I looked at mine. My speedo stopped at 100mph, but had no peg. It looked like I was doing about 20. If I had to guess, I was doing about 130. He then chirped his siren to get my attention, wagged his finger at me and took off. Needless to say, I went back down to 55 (legal limit in '85).

I just got my first ticket last night...I was racing my buddy in his turbo 2 RX-7 ...The cops pulled out and nabbed us both. Luckily we werent speeding it was all first gear. I got a $173 ticket...They could have impounded my poor Z and taken my license away but they let me off, thank god.

Were you on the wheels or the roof of that Plymouth doin' 87 through that corner? I'd have to ask how any Plymouth 4 banger could even get to 87MPH, let alone turn through a 35 MPH corner doing 87MPH. I hope that was what you argued in court.

Sorry to hear that Rob. I, on the other hand, haven't received a ticket (parking, speeding, or otherwise) in over seven years!~ But now that I've said that, watch me get pulled over tomorrow morning and get a whole bundle all at once! Knock on wood...

seven years and no tickets? good job copper, I'm at about 1 and a half years with no tickets or accidents. 1 z31 na and now a z32 na, with the way I drive my friends say I'm the luckiest 17 year old because I have yet to get a ticket..... hopefully I don't get one anytime soon too. the thing is to know where the cops sit out of view so you can slow down in time

Yeah, but now with my work schedule, I'd be lucky to get out of the house once a week to hang. So considering how my workplace is only less than 15 minutes away from my house, there really isn't much opportunity for the police to catch me. Again...knock on wood!
