Are my headlights on crack?
Ok. I'm riding down the street. I get out the car.. Well one light is half up and keeps trying to go up. The other is up. The lights are on. But my switch is off and because I did the light mod, I am suppose to put the lift button to lift the lights.
Ok. It gets worse. I turn the car off. Of course she's complainin to me. I go to lift the hood and the lights go down. I have a bra on her. So after I have this happen a couple of times I'm guessing the bra is pressing something (how I don't know) so I take it off. Well since I haven't had any probs.
Anyone have this happen before? Any suggestions? Where should I start?

If something is blocking the headlamps path from moving up, it goes down and tries again. Same thing happened when I was working on my headlights. I would leave a tool or something on them, so when I turned them on, one would go up and one would try to.

Re: Are my headlights on crack?
There have been some recalls (back in the 80's) on certain year Z31's b/c apparently corrosive grease was used on some wire connection that causes problems w/ the headlights such as turning on/off. I'm not real clear but I can dig up the web page that tells all about it if you'd like... The good news is that if this is your problem Nissan "should" replace the problem for free.

that has nothing to do with this problem.
the reason they would try to go up is cause they don't have a problem starting to go up. It's just part way through they find a bind. And then they go up and down trying to dislodge whatever it is that's binding it.

Re: Are my headlights on crack?
Ok. I understand that. And I figured my bra was binding it. So I get that. not a prob... But what I want to know is what would cause them, with out my interaction, to go up so they would start acting like there was a bind in the first place. Mind you, each time the lights were off. I'd look at the buttton that will allow me to put my lights up manually (top left) and it would be on all of a sudden.
Well if no one has had this, no biggie, because I take the bra off and I don't have that prob, so I know that the bra was on tight and was binding. I took it off.. Problem solved.. haha.
Either way, thank everyone for their imput.

hmmm... maybe they weren't fully retracted to begin with.
but that would mean that they would be trying to go up and down all the time I think. Maybe your car was on crack?
That's it. No more superunleaded for it. Texaco is putting the funny stuff in their gas again....
