hey im new here im looking into picking up a 300zx. I looked at 2 of them today a white 5sp 88 300zx and a 87x red 300zx automatic. I was wondering what kinda gas mileage these cars get and some other stuff. They both seem pretty rust free white one had some rust spots but had been undercoated just surface rust and needed a paint job. The red car had a small dent and pretty decent paint heres some pics anything in particular i should look for
Im leaning towards the white car being its 5sp and ive heard it run and drove it. I might buy both i can get both for 1100

Thanks 2+2 is a trim level right? Whats the difference the cars seemed very similiar, but i think the white car has a spoiler and digital gauges while the red one was analog.

 

2+2 meaning it has 2 front seats and 2 back seats. The red one is a coupe.

Pretty much. If you look at both pictures the 2+2 is a bit longer as well. I usually don't like the look of them at all, but that one looks pretty good. I have an 89 coupe so I may be bias.

 

well i donno i think i want the white standard one i heard it run and what not sounds great clutch is good new master cylinder and hes had it for 5 years with no majors problems he sed. There arent any dents but it does need minimal body work and a new paint job and the wheels seem to go with it. Car has an undercoating under it so theres no rust under there hardly at all. it needs a rear shock and a battery but its driveable with just a battery he wants 600 he sed hes getting me the title monday

 

If you buy the white one, and you are willing to part with the spoiler, I'd love to buy it.

 

I'd buy it for that price and in that condition in a heartbeat. it seems to be a good deal. How many miles on it?

 

the odo says 126k but i think he sed its broken and theres 145k idk bout selling the spoiler but the spoiler on a foxbody mustang would fit if you trimmed it out and mocked it id say...
the red car has 138k and he sed 550 an its clean but it has some sort of starting problem ill probably end up getting it 2

 

That wouldn't be a bad idea. once you have both, figure out which one is worth the work and have the other for a parts car.

 

ya true the red car the guy wasnt there to show it to me. so they didnt have the right key and im gonna go see it and try getting it started someday after work when hes there. its about 30 min from my house.
