To be or not to be:(
I have a problem and need some advise, well my z is down. I thought the problem was the T/O bearing. So I bought a clutch kit and started to replace it. Well I dropped the transmission and removed the old clutch. Well my T/O bearing was fine however my clutch could use the replacement. Well I discovered that it was the transmission bearing (shrapnal in the gear oil and between clutch and transmission)that surrounds the transmissions shaft. I was told that I could have it rebuilt, but it would only last a year or so because something happens to the shaft over time and it gets miss aligned and puts stress on everything else. So options, buy a new one, take my luck with one from the junk yard or get rid of. Rationally speaking I should return the clutch. Sell the car (craigslist, this forum, or possibably junk) and get another car. This would be rational seeing how I only paid 800 and its a salvage title. Also I have already replaced the water pump, starter, clutch master and slave cylinder and will have to replace the suspension (bounces everywhere). The problem is I am getting fond of this car. The good things about the car, The engine is strong pretty fast, the body has no signs of rust that I can see. No dents (some scratches), the car seems pretty solid just got noise cause of the bearing. What would you do?:s-redeemer:

Depends...
By looking at your avatar, and assuming that is the car we are discussing, it appears to be a non-turbo (N/A) model. If I am correct, chunk it.
However, if you just want a project to throw some money and time at, it could be you have a diamond in the rough.
A junkyard jewel of a transmission won't kill the bank account and you should be able to get some type of return policy to work with, in case you get a bad one.
