Odd starting issue

First a little background as i see no introsection, Im Brock, I own two 80s nissan s12s (200sx). And can hold my own when fixing a car, but i just ran into a problem on my buddies newly acquired z31 n/a. Hes not very forum savvy or motor smart for that matter lol. so...

Got it. Fuel pump would not turn on so it wouldn't start. I replaced the fuel pump and it then worked. Still wouldnt start. Fuel would go all the way to the FPR and stop. Aswell the FPR made a nasty sort of noise when it was active.

So he buys the part and puts it on himself, instead of waiting for me, and when i get there. Now the FPR is not making the crappy noise nice and new. But now there is no fuel pressure again because the pump wont even turn on.

He says all he touched was the FPR. And i went over everything i can think of. All wires are in tact and in the same place they were while it worked. The fuse is good. Still no fuel. Any leads would be too welcome!

Welcome to ZDriver!

So have you checked for power at the fuel pump? If no power, have you checked the relay? From where was the fuel pump purchased?

Yes the pump has been checked for power. The ignition was destroyed when someone tried to steal the car with a power too of some kind so there is a push button start, along with a toggle switch for the Battery and pump.

Relay. Have 3 of them and swapped them all in and none of them would change anything.

And the pump was originally out of my 84 s12 it was gently used and did have low miles. I believe i got it off summit, before i decided to buy a better model. So i took it out and put it in the z31.

the push to start was not wired up by myself or brock so I do not know any of the wires the were cut in the ignition or if there are any wires for the fuel pump in the steering column
