Ouch!!!

Killed my car today

Lost control after a freezing rain storm, got loose and slid into the on coming lane, pretty much t-boned me. Even the dash is bent upwards. Good news I have excellent insurance w/ a 250 deductible, so hopefully Ill get a decent appraisal. Already had it towed home, just waiting on them now. Got a pretty good goose egg on my noggin, not sure what I hit. Those few seconds between being out of control and realizing your going to hit and impact keep playing in my head, not fun at all. Needless to say I'M going to be shopping for a new ride, thinking more along the S130 family, I had a 77 before and it was a blast to drive. Ill keep you guys posted on what might happen next. To top it all off, when I finally got back to work I was laid off, IM attached, and it should only be for a short time, but really good timing in a way, since I cant get to work. My insurance includes a rental 80% up to $1000, so for next week I think Ill start taking my car apart, collect unemployment, I have a waiting week.... arg... life happens sometimes

oofa! I guess you got the same ice storm we did...

Not cool. I wrecked my 318ti in a blizzard a few years back. Not cool...

If you are in the market for an S130, I'm always selling mine (for the right price).

Back in the Game soon :)

Just set up transportation for my new project 1979 datsun 280zx 5 speed my brother is helping me trailer her home, about a 90 mile drive through the mountains. Really excited to get back in a Z... s130 this turn around ... woot , Ive been driving a 92 dodge ram 50 and it really doesn't corner well, you get so used to a nice handling car and boom your driving a beater, hehe, oh well it sucked to loose my baby, I bought it back for $500 and got a check for $4200 from the insurance, about what I paid of it initially.
I plan on swapping the tranny to start. Ill post some more pics when I get it home, wont be until next Thursday, so Ill be going stir crazy til then.

FS5W71C from 84 NA

Looks like the front case will need to be swapped and a drive line fabbed if I go with the z31 trans, might be easier for me to find a correct s130 5 speed. I have to do a little more research and see if rebuilding or buying a different trans will be easier.
Initially I just was thinking it would bolt right up, one way or another Ill get her running. This will be my 2nd 280, had a 77 before, that was a fun car to drive, blew the motor in it and sold it sadly.
