Possible start on Project Z-Resurrection

Bad news and Great news. My 88T appears that it has finally took its last breath. Last night, it rained pretty good here in southern New Mexico and ruined my Z. I never drive it in the rain BUT this day was a must. Since, it now runs very poorly and has not been the same. It's always die'n out on me everytime i come to an idle, blowing out nasty black smoke now, smell of fuel, smell of antifreeze, nasty hesitation, long start up, ticking come from engine, light white smoke coming from heads, and excessive fuel consumption. this all happened suddenly. This is not good.

The good news, its that time to rebuild my lady and give her a new life. My deadline is still to be determined. Bought a new camera to record progress, got some jack stands, and time to begin work this coming weekend. Its very unfortunate but i have another 85NA to transport me around for the mean time. I have bought a whole lot of parts and now its that time to rip her apart. Its time to transplant new organs, repair her nervous system, and pump my blood through her veins. Its my first restoration and its gonna be a BIG learning experience. I call it my Project Z-Resurrection.

My objective here is to apply most of these write ups to my project and show the simplicity of most of them and that the average guy can accomplish them on a budget. Something similar of Kevin's "BLACK BITCH". If i can discipline myself and stick to my overall objective i would like to show the financial report of how much it takes to restore a z31 over a peroid of time and apply high performance parts and mods.

Once i finish this I am planning to drive up to the Branson Z Fest in my newly restored Z and show off my hard work cross country. Just my sexy lady and I! (not my wife that is) It would be a big treat since i have never been to one and it would be my first time. I can't wait!

I too am in the process of putting my 86zx back on the road. Good luck with the project. It can be a bit of work. But in the end, it'll all pay off.

sorry guys i been out for awhile got caught up at work lately and a recieved position to commercial manager. Just lost a whole bunch of free time. Also while working on my z i experienced an accident and had my fuel pressure regulator explode in my face and catch fire. My 88T is fine and i actually walked away from it too with minor burns and swollen eyes. So i was out for a while. But this past weekend i did pull out a motor from my crashed 88 turbo to rebuild and reinstall in my other 88 turbo. I got pics with cell phone cuz i was too stupid to charge camera with in process of working.

Next weekend ill be doing a 4 wheel lug conversion to a 5 lug conversion with CLSD differential on my 85. I will post everything soon when i find my usb cord.
