Im havin problems with the engine on my 85NA on the initial start up. It starts perfectly fine but dies right away when it idles. When i step on the gas to keep it going it fades out then quickly dies. I have to pump the pedal and floor it to fully reach its ability to stay runnin on its own. It also sputters and very rarely backfires. To start up the car takes about 30 mins. When its running, ITS RUNNING AND HAULS *** up and down the street with no problems. I was thinkin the cold start valve but from my research there isnt one, only on the later z models.

I have done quite a bit of work already that was needed and to supposedly solve my problem. I already replaced starter, battery cables, battery, complete tune up, replaced air filter, fuel psi regulator, distributor cap and rotor, wires, water pump, thermostat, timing belt n tensioner, fuel filter, few fuses, fusible link, and all fluids. I have checked for fuel pressure, proper timing, water temperature, oil pressure, and for any possible leaks and everthing checks out great. Im thinkin possible, MAF, vacuum leak (looked everywhere and dont hear one), auxilary air valve, and TPS. I dont even know if those could be the problem but i am open to any ideas and advice. Okay i got the code! THe first one is 23 which is deciphered as idle switch and the next one is 31 which is the AC. Now as for the idle switch isnt that also the TPS. Im about 99.9% positive it is but wanna make sure its not something else. And for the AC well i yanked that sucker out. Is there a way to clear that out or is that just gonna be there until its fixed?
