Question Rear End Problems

I have a parts car to start with and befor i go to pulling rear end parts off i need someone to tell me what they think this is.

When i give it gas hard or during slight turns/curves i hear a loud vibrating bumping sound towards the back. Kinda like a deep flapping noise or gears slapping each other. HARD to do the noise over the net.
Think as a baseball card on a bike wheel but deep and loud.

One thing i do have a torn boot on my left axle (inner) and i was thinking dirt done shot it. Another thing i thought maybe the U Joint on the Driveshaft. LMK what yall think i should swap out first. And yes my gear oil is new, its changed every oil change because i get it Free

Note: it only does it when i give it (gas).

CV joint?

Same thing happened to my prelude and my friends supra...

If the parts car's u-joint is newer and in better condition i'd do that too, but thats just me..

You should probably start with the basics...

Diff mount?
CV worn?
Wheel bearing?
Anything loose?

If you already know that one of the CV boots is torn, you should probably start with that.

diff mount is shot, wheel bearings are new, very little slack on the driveshaft , its just funny how it "just" started all of a sudden.... but the boot is torn on the cv and i kinda figured that first being my dumbass didnt put a new boot on it because i was being cheap n lazy..its 9 degrees and i dont have a shop so i work with jack stands and unlevel cold damp ground....i guess ill ride it easy till it warms up n try the cv,uv,and the diff mount. comes to it ill just swap the rear end completely....

Ok. here is what i got so far, i checked the wheel bearings and they are OK. ne ways i had an idea. If it only does this when i give it gas im gonna try springs first. My springs are shot and my wheels are tucking about half an inch over the tires. If this doesnt work, im going to swap both axles, and IF that doesnt work im swaping the rear end and drive shaft. IF THAT DOESNT WORK, IM SELLING IT! i hoesntly got rid of my perfect shape ford explorer for this thing thinking itll be cheaper to work on. WRONG. Im not hateing on the Z because i love it, i dont love the cost of fixes.

If I'm looking at this right (and I'd like to think that I am), why would you not replace what you know is already bad first? A worn out diff mount will obviously cause clunking.

Don't make this harder than it needs to be.

One suggestion: Make sure there is at least a halve inch clearance between the prop shaft end and your exhaust pipe. Not matter how tight you think these exhausts are clamped on, they still can move on these cars when power up/down or shifting engne/drivetrain weight during turns. Recently I had a new exhaust installed on my 280zx, the car is considered very tight in every aspect (has only 15,000 miles on) and the MIDAS mechanic was "very" confident there was enough clearance. I drove the car, and only on some occasions would hear a clunking noise...in my case it was decelerating at 65mph+ or left/right turns over 40mph...took it to another mechanic to have inspected, and true behold there was the scuffing mark from the prop touching the pipe. Problem solved.

Get a Haynes manual and download a FSM from the link below. It's not rocket science. If you keep throwing money at it with out knowing whats wrong, you'll go broke.

Thats the thing, I'm not throwing money at it. I got all parts I need. And I know when to
stop when it comes to working on a car. I see about 8 bolts behind the hub, all I need to know , do I take them out? That's it, the rest I can handle. No point in buying a haynes.

A Z owner working on his car with out a manual is like a blind man doing surgery. Get one so you don't have to keep asking stupid questions.

Yes, take the bolts out. Pull that end of the axle down and use something to pry/lever the other end out of the diff. Don't mix them up, they must go back in the same sides.

Haha, I was being a smart *** don't get all serious. Hey I'll even buy you a beer
to calm your nerves. Anyways, this what I got today. I put my new springs on and it made it worst. Being my old springs had redneck rising blocks. So I take
it my cheapass shocks are causeing me
to tuck and putting stress on the cv making it pop. When i put the
new
springs on it road great, gave it a lil gas, no
noise. really got on it the car sat
back down and started tucking and the noise came
back. So I'll wait a couple weeks and order the adjustable shocks and
set them
on the highest setting I can. Try that out. If that don't work, I'll sell
the car for a high price and screw someone.

Check the rear crossmember bushings.
