I want to install a wireless lock/unlock for my 1985 300ZX Turbo. Is this a good idea if even possible? This is the one I'm looking at. And by the way, it is an automatic transmission.

LOL, I have torn so many of those stupid security systems out over the years. Just buy and install your own remote entry system and hook it to a relay that triggers the factory door lock solenoids.

 

Driver door doesn't have a solenoid. Do not buy a remote door system unless you work in a patrolled parking lot and park your car in the garage. Installing a door only system will defeat the factory alarm (even as useless as it is, it's better than nothing).
