Vaccum leak?
I changed my fuel pressure regulator and I knocked a vaccum line loose or something. I thought I fixed it because i noticed one loose. Its on the right side of the fuel rail. I can't find it. But when I push on the rail it gets louder. and cant find the exact spot some where by #3 injector. wondering if this ever happened to anybody and the easyiest way to fix it.

Re: Vaccum leak?
If you've never replaced the vac lines in your z, then it sounds like a good time to do it now considering they're all nearly 15 years old (I'm guessing this is on your '88) and rubber wasn't meant to last forever. Some poeple spray starting fluid on their hoses to find the leak, as the idle will change when it finds it. Be aware that this can also cause your gaskets to start leaking if you spray it too often, too much on your intake and the components bolted to it, which only complicates the matter.
Seems odd that pushing on your fuel rail would make a difference as there are no vac lines attached to it or anything.
My advice is to keep looking for it, you'll find it eventually.

Re: Vaccum leak?
OK maybe not vaccum. but if i wiggle the #3 injector it self it will hiss, suck or whatever also it has a very rough idle and the car shudders (hesitates) under boost. Like if I am cruisn at 40mph in 4th gear and I slam the gas that is when it happens. never happened before. So either it's the injector or something is loose???? I am very confused. Now I probally have to put the car away early and work on the polar bear (89 Crown Vic LTD)

Re: Vaccum leak?
try replacing the o-rings on the injectors. there are 2 on each injector, one large, one small.
small one just slips over the end where it goes into the lower intake. the larger one is held on with a snap ring. remove snap ring, remove old o-ring, install new one, install ring and you're done. I just did them on one of my cars. Beck/Arnley part number 158-0022 has 4 of each o-ring in it so you'd need 2 of those (and you'd have a coupla leftovers).

Spot
yep, a vaccum leak on the back of the intake manifold. and the #3 O-rings are bad. What's Beck/Arnly never heard of them? How do I reach them? Also the vaccum line that goes to the back of the intake is smaller than all the other vaccum lines on the car. Do you know where they go and what size they are.
Thankx for all the wisdom
