Again, how much money do you have? ANYTHING can be done given enough time and money. You can put a viper V10 into the car if you have enough of both.

AZ is being a smart ***.. But just that.. Smart! Because he's right, you can put anything in them... Common swaps would be a small block v8. It's left up to your time, money and imagination. Hell, I just saw a 4x4 260 on a ford bronco chasis with I beleve a chevy block in it.
BTW, AZ... Not bad mouthin ya.. just keepin it real.... I respect your authority on Z any day of the week. Thanks for all the help you've given me in the past.

Re: what kind engine???
thanks, and I've seen that 260Z 4x4.
And that's just my point. Yes, I'm being a smart ***, but the question is so open. It's like asking:
How big a TV can I put in my living room?
well, not exactly, but close....

The second one was the one I saw.... I love that first one though.
We just had this city wide 'cruise night' here in town and I saw all the cars with three will motion.. I was thinkin of a Z on some hydros.. That would be wild.. (Only good for showin off, but would be different. lol)

Ok, anyway I think possibly DarkmoonZX just wan't to know what cars/trucks he can find a VG30 in so he can replace his engine if it goes out.
There are some variations of the VG30 and the 300ZX has the best performing one. Basically the coupe and 2+2 have the same engine compartment so they are interchangable. You can also drop in a complete 300ZX Turbo engine. There are some V6 hardbody trucks and the 1985-93 Maxima uses the VG30 although that is front wheel drive and you won't get a usable transmisison from that. The Maxima and truck engines are known to not have as much power but that might be just because of the intake and exhaust setup. The late Maxima 92-93 started to have a DOHC V6 as an option. I think those will also fit, but I'm not the expert on the Z31.
Along those lines, can anyone else give some more specifics?

Hmm.... nope, doesn't sound like it. Oh, and if you read the other posts by him, you'd realize he doesn't have an engine in either car right now.

Re: what kind engine???
Who said anything about you being new to Datsuns? And who cares about Datsuns? The 300ZX has, was, and always will be a Nissan. I said you were new to THIS forum. As in, the 300ZX forum. And now I'm curious as to why you are in this forum since you don't have a 300ZX. Nothing wrong with it, but there are people in here who know a lot more about the Z31 than you probably do, so I was just curious.
