yep. I thought it was a cool car and everything, but seriously... you could see where they didn't even bother cleaning off the junk or old paint from when they pulled off the window molding or trunk emblems. Heck, it even shows up a little in the pictures.

Yeah. I thought it was nice but seriously it didnt deserve the first place. I know this might sound conceded but I thought I had a great chance at getting first in the Z31 group. But I had heard we were getting grouped in with the Z32's so I left early because of that and I was sunburned and tired. I also have to say that red Z31 shouldnt of gotten second. The girl took her mom and dad's Z to the show. Didnt even bother to clean it up or remove the tow bar. I really liked the show but that was fixed.

Thanks Steve, but my preparation was waking up at 8:15 that morning hungover, finding a quarter wash, and washing it. I didn't even take the time to vacuum the inside. There was just too much crap inside for me to vacuum.
Most of my prep work was just cleaning stuff as I put the engine and interior back together. Outside still needs work.
Personally thought your car was much nicer than either of the two "winners" as well. Probably some bias in that
a) a girl brought it.
b) a Club Z member.
Was that it? Hopefully not. Do I care? Not really. They let me park in the special isle even though the outside of my car wasn't near as nice as the 85 turbo that was there. Damn previous owner and a bad paint job.
Then again, I doubt many people have less money into their cars than I do.
car = $900
tires = $600
wheels = $250
interior = $300
motor = $300
funny, stereo was probably the biggest expenditure on the car at $400 for the head unit and $280 for the speakers.

Thanks Az. I thought your Z was great. Not very often I see an AE. Red said there was something wrong with the engine. Did you make it back with now problems? Oh, the best thing I liked about your Z was your wheels. Very nice job on shining those up. Damn things were like a mirror.

thanks wheels cost me $120 to have them polished.
Yeah, the car is a bitch to get to run when it's cold. Just doesn't want to run at all. Have to rev it to over 3k for about 10 to 15 seconds once it's a little warmed up before it will run right. Even then though, it may not be ready.
Only problem is that now I know I need a new rad. I was afraid I would before, but the drive home confirmed it. It got a little too hot for my liking coming up the hill just before LA. Pulled over, let it cool for about 10-15 minutes. No problems the rest of the trip.
I think it's starting to break in though. First part of the trip was 20mpg. From LA to AZ was 25 mpg.

I just got a new radiator for my Z. I won it on ebay from a radiator shop in the midwest. Its a two row and works great. I got 75 bucks plus shipping. I can see if they would sell another one for that price. Go to aceradiator.com
