86 turbo doing weird stuff

Hey Guys,

Alright I found an 86 turbo with a full 3" ss exaust from turbo back, Adjustable suspension and a spare engine(needs built again). 600 bucks

Now the engine in there now is doing funny things. When you go to start it. It takes alot of times to get it started and when it finally does start up you have to keep it at or above 3k rpm all the while it is spitting white smoke out the back (can't remember what white smoke means)

If you have the car above 3k it runs fine and the turbo sounds o so sweet. The girl im buying it from said that her b/f said it was the injectors and something else i forget. I'm thinking it might be the ecu because my one bmw i had did almost the same thing. Do you guys have any take on what it might be. I would hate to have to leave the car sit around while i build the other engine to put in there (even thought it is going to be built a little bit)

White exhaust = burning coolant (warped / cracked head, or leaking coolant jacket)
Blue exhaust = burning oil
Black exhaust = burning too much fuel

Cool

might want to stop running it... if you have to keep it reved for it to run right..... might be getting into your oil also..which means a head issue, check the oil to see the extent of the leakage. if there is a milky substance, the head gasket/ or even worse the head is warped. then the car is pretty much useless. park it and rebuild the other one that way you spend your money towards a sure thing vs fixing the one in the car for another problem to arise.
