Any automatic transmission experts want to help?

My z31T has a bad transmission and I have been looking into getting a new one, prices are pretty steep so I have been trying to find alternatives to buying a brand new one.

I have been looking online and came up with a couple for a bit over 750 dollars...was also wondering...couldnt i just buy a kit to rebuild it and save lots of money? Does anyone know if there is a kit to rebuild the turbo auto tranny from an 85 300zx? Or would it be easier and cheaper to try to get a manual with all the parts to swap it over?

I have been sitting on this project for too long because I lack the knowledge to know what can and cannot be done to fix the issues...please help...

This would be your best option from what I have read from other Z31 automatic owners on other boards. Also, heard stories even after the automatic had been rebuilt, they just do not seem to last very long but who knows how hard they were beating on it.
