I have searched and searched on two z sites z31 and this one and I can not seem to find anything on an electric water pump. Do they exist am I crazy for trying to look for one? And also is there any other car nissan made with the vg30 and they might have put an electric water pump in it or even *cough infiniti? Oh yeah and if a v-belt is offered for the electric pump system? Please any inqueries.

 

hmm, in all my parts searching for the z31, i have never came across an electric waterpump.

 

CSR makes one for the L-Series motor, but apparently not the VG.

No flame-age needed. Electric water pumps free up a lil strain on the motor as it's no longer belt driven. It's also no longer engine rpm dependant, so flow is increased (over stock) at lower rpms.

 

thats why only drag cars have them...

the only time a electric water pump would be good is for drag racing, plus all it would do is make you over heat in a street car..

 

The only way it would overheat your car is if it flowed so much water that it didn't have time to cool as it passed through the rad... and to do that you'd have to not have a fan on the rad, and not be moving.

 

has nothing to do with it. that's what the thermostat is for. it regulates the flow

Right, but he was saying an electric water pump would overheat a street car... I was explaining what would have to happen to make an electric water pump overheat a car, but yes... the thermostat will control the temp.

we tried it on a friends circle track car while it was cool in staging, it just plain overheated on the track..
