ERGENT RESPONCE 1986 300zx turbo question & engine life

I wanted to find out what the average life expectancy of a 1986 300zx turbo motor is. I believe it is a vg30 I think. I mean is it even worth buying a 300zx if it has 190,000 on the motor?
Also I wanted to find out how if I can modify the turbo to get more boost or even install a boost control on this type of car. Any help would be great. Hope to hear from you all

that answered your own question... boost controller controls boost. Once you have the car in front of you, then we can tell you how to install it.

life of a motor depends on how well it has been treated & taken care of (oil changes, taken to red line, etc.)

to answer your question, some Vg's will do great at 190K, some will be crap at 60K (jdm). It depends on how it was taken care of, condition, etc.

My 87 n/a is approaching 300,000 and it runs like a dream.but I dont have any clue of how well its been taken care of before I had it. I do know, since ive had it its been in good hands the vg30's are very reliable engines IMHO.

The VG30 was rated by the industry as THE most reliable V6 internal combustion motor on the planet for about ten years or so if I recall. Any motor can go 300K or 400K with proper care but the VG30 is substantially more stout to begin with than most motors. If it hasn't been abused, it can go forever. My L28 has 245K on it and has never been "opened up" for repairs. It has no sign of wear. No oil leaks, good compression across all 6 cylinders, the valves look great... It's been well cared for and it shows. If your car is running good don't worry about the mileage. Just be good to it.

Rod.
