new loud knock
Today my 86 turbo started knocking really loud. So, I popped the hood to have a peek. It was really difficult to keep running. But, I think I somewhat pinpointed the area of it's origin. It's knocking from the distributor. I pulled the cap off and had a look. But I didn't see anything "biting" inside the cap. Any other ideas? Or am I looking at having to replace the complete unit?

I had changed the oil about 700 miles ago. Oil level is good. And it's color is what's to be expected for the life of it.
Dunno about the variable in loudness. It just started knocking really bad one morning. It didn't seem to get any louder or quieter. Just faster with the rpms.
As far as I know, it's the stock oil pump. But I was getting a solid 30psi of oil pressure when it was warm. And as I was cranking the motor, the oil pressure did start to build.
I just need to find more time to be able to further investigate this issue. But, with the way my schedule is as of lately, I don't see that happening for a while.
