Replacing wiring harness
Hi
I have an 85, 300zx, 5speed standard, single Turbo. I was told that i need a new wiring harness. I have a couple questions... is this something that can only be done by a dealership? If the wiring harness is replaced, does this cover the connections in the engine (air conditioning plug, etc) AND everything that connects to the fuse box? Is this something that i can do with the proper documention?

Let me start off by saying you have two differn't Harnesses. One for the engine controlls and the other for the car accessories. I have cut and fixed two engine harnesses because they cost 6-7 hundred dollars depneding on vehicle. The engine harness can be changed out fairly easy however their is alot involved. Pulling all of that wire out with the ends on them will be a challenge, but it can be done. Why do you need another harness? The last one I fixed was an engine fire due to a rigged power wire for an AMP! It burnt half of the wires but I was able to cut and resolider them back together.
