I have an 85 turbo and an 85 n/a. The tranny on the turbo is slowly dying. The turbo has the auto while the tranny in the N/A is the 5 speed that was rebuilt right before the motor died. What I'm wondering is can I swap the trannys. I've read that it can't be done but nothing says why. So can it be done? Also as the subject says I want to swap to the analog dash. Any one tried this and if so is it a pain?

 

Yes. The engine block is exactly the same. That means all the mounting bolts are exactly the same. You'll need the body mounts for the transmission and the driveshaft for the particular transmission you are using.
Yes, it can be done. You'll need the dash harness from an analog car. And you'll need to pull the dash.
