sounds like the plexi material might be a bit too thick in the corners where it should fit flush with the door cutout.

Make your own!

I used wax paper to trace out the opening and made my own adaptors. I make mine out of 1/8" particle board - which works great for the front speaker mounts.

kappas sound awesome. my neighbour, on my suggestion, put 6.5 kappa perfect components in his grand cherokee, along with a pair of JL 10w3v2's, and it sounds amazing. there is absolutely no comarison between anything infinity makes with anything audiovox makes, especially the kappa series.

That's funny... I had Infinity Kappa's in my black TT when I bought it, and I also have a Geo Tracker... And I've been toying with the idea of putting the Infinity Kappa's from the Z into the Geo

In all honesty, I wasn't impressed with the Kapaa's (mine were model 462cf). They were only 4" so that might be the problem, but when I swapped them out for my JBL 6.5's (GTO625's if you're curious) that I had in my red TT, the sound quality increased probably ten-fold in my opinion. Like I said, it might be attributed to the size (or maybe the enclosure, since the Kappa's were open air and the JBL's had a ported enclosure), but I thought the sound from the Kappa's was very shallow.

I have no experience with Audiovox speakers, so I can't comment on that comparison, but the Geo Tracker handles WAY better in the snow than the Z, so THERE! I just compared a Geo to a Nissan and found an aspect where my Geo is superior! lmao

I've heard of people using the stock speaker mounts and doing a little bit of dremmelling and customizing to make 6 1/2's fit very nicely.

actually, i could if infinitys are just over priced audiovox speakers. litterally. a guy i know owns a car audio shop here, he says audiovox makes the speakers for infinity, and infinity just puts their name on it. if you look in te back of the speaker and compair, you can see the same serial # that audio vox put on their speakers. so zlover4life could be right about his experiance with his infinitys.

also, it kind of reminded me of a story ive heard from a movie

there was an old native american man sitting on the side walk on his mat, selling hand made clay pots. to the right, the pots were marked $5. to the left, $10. so a man asked why is he selling the exact same pots for different prices.

the old man says," you see, some people want to spend $5, others want to spend 10..."

well to be honest here just because one manufacturere makes some thing for another doesn't necessarily make it the same.
Case in point, Delco electronics made the Rockford Fosgate head unit from a few years ago. Now Denon does. Phase Linear was made by Jensen. And so on and so forth, just because one company makes products for others doesn't necessarily mean they're the same product. Materials and specs are most likely quite different.
