That's actually my old car. My new Z is sporting the 1990 nose panel, I personally like it better, it has a very clean look.

I cant seem to find it for sale anywhere. The only one i could find was the ab-flug and its 322 without paint DAM. Anyone know where they sell the bomex one i think it looks cleaner.

LOL thanks man i just found it on there site duhh me. I guess the blue z is the ab-flug and the silver is the bomex. The ab-flug would allow more air to enter then the bomex. But dam so pricey for a piece of fiberglass then anothor hundred for paint.

well, just to let you know, ducted nose panels ad no "ram air" effect since the nose panel does not retrict airflow to the intake. It may add turbulence which will lead to stumbling off of take off. It's purely a cosmetic mod.

Then why do alot of the sites i go to have this info listed with the nose panel, a sales gimick? Allowing more air into the engine bay allows for a better cooling affect. Keeping your engine cool prolongs your engines life as well as promotes for a better running motor. Keeping is cool increases performance.

i 2nd with emo236.. my stillen nose panel grew tired after a while so i sold it to someone who would enjoy it more than me. so i went with a 1990 flat nose panel. its a smoother look, and i feel theres no performance gain. you need an opening on the other side of your hood to blow hot air out if it sapposed to be letting cold air in. the hood has rubber seals to prevent water from comming in the engine bay creating a seal under the windsheild. it probably gets blown out from the under and sides of the motor but i think it gets proper air from the front of the bumper. just my .02

What would they be trying to sell, this is just fact, not a sales gimmick. The nose panel does not go into the engine bay. Your Z should have a fan to pull air into the engine bay. I had the stillen nose panel on my old Z and used to think it was functional. Greg Dupree told me differently, he's someone I trust when it comes to info about z32s.

yeah, a ducted nose panel WILL NOT increase performance..at all. Purely cosmetic. (In fact, if it's actually open ducting, when it rains your filter is going to get hit with more water, which will mean that it'll need to be re-oiled more often... Stillen ones don't even come with open ducting)

then they were modified. The stillen louvered, ducted, and ducted V2 panels are all simulated ducts and louvers. Obviously any body shop can make it real, but from Stillen, they don't have open ducts (in case you didn't know, I used to do sales at Ultimate Z; we used to stock the nose panels and a lot of people thought there were performance gains with them until I pointed out they aren't actually ducted - but even if there were actual openings, the airflow is so miniscule that you'll never notice a difference)

sorry for the supersize pic, but this is the Stillen Louvered Nose Panel. This pic clearly shows there are no real louvers in the panel. The ducted panels are the same way when Stillen ships them out. (By the way, it's hard to find a good pic that shows this)

here's the louvered panel with the louvers painted in

here's the ducted V1 that you had (you can see a little bit of the red paint where the "ducts" are

and finally the ducted V2

but just so you know, there are actually ducted nose panels out there (just not from stillen). I'm pretty sure the powertrix ones (and the one that is discussed in here) are really ducted. I just wanted to demonstrate that the Stillen "ducted" and "louvered" panels are neither ducted nor louvered.

powertrix one's are ducted, I actually watched Charles R&D that part, amongst others. That's so weird, my old nose panel was actually ducted, and one of the guys in my club has the same one and it was ducted too...I guess they were just both modded.
