Car Speakers
I have a 1991 300zx 2+2 and the regular factory Bose speakers dont work anymore. When u try to listen to music the speakers make a whining sound. And the deck doesnt work sometimes. I want to replace the whole system including the deck of course. Would four 6.5" Pioneer speakers be good to replace the system? Help please

your gonna have to do a bit of fabbing to get 6.5s in the rear, if you want a better fit get a 4" plate 2-way (better than a 4x6). and i would recommend infinity, jl, or mb quart over the pioneers, depending on how much you want to spend. pioneer makes good decks, but the speakers, just ok. infinity reference are great for about 80-90 bucks a pair if your on a budget.

i believe 6.5s will fit the front speakers, you'll have to get 5s in the back. and i wouldnt go with Pioneers = blehhh ive been working on my sound setup but its halted due to Z issues. ive got Kenwood eXcelons 180ws in the front, and they sound nice~

i think you're choice of speakers is ok.
Go with whatever sounds good to you. People will tell you all day what they think is good and what they think is best. Just go with what you can afford or whatever fits your taste.
As far as fitment issues go, you might wanna take an actual look at what you're getting yourself into before you start buying equipment for the Z. You'll wanna take one of two routes with your system. Fabricate mounts for the speakers yourself or buy premade. The factory speaker brackets will limit the size of speaker to 5.25 i believe, in the front. The rear speakers changed sizes from 91+ i think so you'll hafta physically dissasemble the rear to see what size speaker will fit there after you remove the stock Bose enclosures.
Don't forget that you'll most likely want to run new speaker wires to each speaker either from your head unit or from an external amplifier if you go that route.
