yeah... not much complexities to a cigerette outlet.... some lil wires and a fuse.... ummm... how do you know the outlett doesent work? did you just try pushing in the ciggerett lighter and it didnt get hot? cause mine would never get hot in my 90 z32 but it powered my cell phone charger. just a question.

mine had this issue. I simply added another power socket. They're cheap and can be had at any local autoparts store. It's easy to install too. just a ground and a 12volt power source. You can put it wherever you want.

get a voltmeter

test to see if the wire is hot ( has power) across the terminals with the bottom part or socket removed. Do this with ignition switch turned on 1 step below engine on. Or do it with the engine running...just dont accidently put it in gear cause that would be sad. if it isn't working and never has someone (probably an idiot) used the 12vdc as the power for an aftermarket radio. Trace the wire back to the harness to make sure its not cut or spliced. Only do this after you ohm out the fuse (looking for a short) when out of the fuse box (no power applied). If you want put the voltmeter across the fuse terminals with the spade fuse pulled out and ignition to the acc position, you should get 12vdc. If you don't......get a new car https://www.zdriver.com/forums/image...con_toilet.gif
IF you get good power to the socket but still no phone charge, test your lighter...does it work? if it does...your charger is too long for the silly short nissan shallow socket. If it does not get hot then your socket is bad and you will need to order a new one. If i remember correctly the one is the Z32 is about 1/4 inch shorter then any you can get off the shelf, but you can find one on ebay or order a brand spanking new one from Nissan for about 50$

lets see....if memory serves me right its G/R is your 12vdc and the B is your ground and the OR/B is the ACC ground connects through a 20amp fuse. enjoy!!

I don't suppose you've checked the functionality of the lighter itself first? You know, push it it, see if it gets hot. Who knows, maybe it's your phone charger.

let's see, u took the console apart and put it back together and now the lighter doesn't work?
sounds like u didn't reconnect the wiring or it disconnected upon reassembly. Take it apart and check it again.
