OK... Like B said it's used to adjust air/fuel ratio, as well as monitor knocking and supposebly it should be able to adjust timing, which no one had much success with. I purchased it, then sold it on ebay. i figured it would drive me crazy setting that thing up If you have reflashed ECU you don't need this... this is a piggy back fuel controller, and besides DAD wouldn't let you get one my bad B!!!

again I'm not an expert on these, but from what I've read, with one of these you can safely start to up your boost pressures a little and use the s-afc to add in more fuel. But you also need to be able to monitor your afr's or your egt's for lean conditions.
I haven't heard anything about timing with an s-afc.
You do have to tinker tho.

Back to the subject of gauges....I've read up more on the A/F gauge. It's crap. It is just a light show that really doesn't show anything. I'm going with the vac/boost gauge, and a voltmeter. I can't decide on the 3rd gauge. A pyrometer would be nice, but I really don't like the idea of drilling into the manifold. I've read that it can be done without removing the manifold, so that helps a little. I'm just afraid to break it. Any other suggestions?

???? what do you mean....Exhaust gas temp... why would he need two???........aaagh bc the Z's have dual exhaust.... hmmmm interesting

One to monitor each side of the manifold. You will get better readings this way. Autometer I heard has a dual egt gauge as well as Westach.

Dammit, Wrecker....barf on the keyboard again. I'm trying to figure what kind of car that is. By the looks of the dash it's early 80's, but that's the closest I can get. What is it?

Hey guys....
I found this site.
www.treperformance.com
They guarantee the lowest prices for gauges on the internet. I think I'd like to go with vac/boost, voltmeter & fuel pressure. I may also get the dual EGT gauge, if this guy at Tre Performance can get it. I couldn't find it on the autometer site. I'd have to design another mount for it. I may integrate the voltmeter something into the ashtray since that's not something I need to monitor as closely as everything else.

Hey a mustang site??? J/K. I click on the guages and it shows me nothing . I believe the Autometer EGT guage has one needle but you can switch between the two probes or have it setup to where it gives you readings of the hottest side. This is what I have heard from others anyway.

I've been communicating with Paul North over e-mail. You can send an e-mail to sales@treperformance.com. I've been sending him autometer part #'s and he's been responding with the prices.
I know it's a Mustang site. I already went through the mental anguish on that.
I may have to call Auto Meter.
