i got my z bout 4 months ago and the guy i got it from had blue turn signals in it. this is this legal right? i see no other cars with blue turn signal, only the usual yellow. i have passed many police at night with my lights on and never been stopped. so anybody know the do's and don'ts on turn signals????

i have blue turn signal bulbs as well, and it did say for offroad use only on the package, but i havent had any problems with them with the cops

i have had some problems with when i am using them tho. when the sun is glaring right on my car, people are unable to see the turn signal

 

As for the legality of the lights, I would call your local PD to find out. Better ask questions now and find out their illegal, vs standing before a judge w a $100+ fine. I m not sure what the rules are everywhere, but as long as it isnt affecting others driving. I dont think they will say anything to you. Hear is a hint..keep a philips head screw driver and some regular bulbs in the glove compartment. If u do get pulled over, the cop may let you off on the ticket if you agree to replace them then abd there with the officer present. My friend got busted with those stupid windshield washer lights, it was either $110 fine or take the cops wire cutters are cut em then and there. Obviously he took the cutters, and re connected them when he got home.

I think everything and anything now comes with that warning. My HKS exhaust says that but it is still technically legal (with the silencers in). They put that on everything to cover their own butts if it ever came into court. Companies are willing to market these parts for street use, then they turn around and back out claiming they are for Off-road use only. I think its kinda shady.

 

It's pretty expensive to get something EPA or CARB approved. These places get around the approval process by making that statement. Otherwise they could incur some legal liability.

 

If the cop wants to be a dick, then he can site you. Turn signals are supposed to be yellow. It doesn't matter where you are. Keep a pair of the proper lights and tell the cop that you bought them a few weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to change them yet. If he's a dick, then he'll still site you.

when i got this car i had blue headlights, yellow/orange corners, and white fog lights

when i got z's car i had blue headlights, yellow fog lights, yellow turn signal lights and white corner lights

 

I converted my bulbs into red bulbs. I did it in a quite ingenius way if I do say so myself. I actually used stained glass spray paint and sprayed a couple coats on the bulbs. Now I have red turn signals on my red Z . I don't know, you guys think I should do blue accessories? I just didn't want to go all patriotic. :hpydance:

my brother me and soem girlswhere coming back from watching a movie right. as where goign down teh street we get pulled over by a pig. he tell's my brother that if we know why we got pulled over. so oviously we say , "uhh? no dude actually we don't" and he tells us it's because of our turn signals. they where blue by the way. so we ask him why. he repied. "it makes your car look lieka patrol car." you could have pictured the look in our faces :yikes: :roflmao: so he said he was goign to give us a warning ticket get those removed and take them to get cheked out @ our local PD. oh yeah here's a picture of our car.

I think I saw that same car in aisle 4 at Safeway last week. It was being pushed by some grey haired old woman. She had eggs, bread and milk in it. I would've pulled your buddy over even if he didn't have blue lights just for trying to impersonate a shopping cart. Sorry guys, but blue lights belong at Kmart.... 'blue light specials'. Turn signals are supposed to be amber. With the JDM tails, technically, you're supposed to install amber bulbs in the turn signals; otherwise, they are not legal. Technically.

well, it was color coordination on z's car since he had blue highs and lows

and i just swapped them....i dunno, for some reason i cant stand those yellow corners. i wish i could have headlights that looked like the new bmw ones
my dad forgot to get the high bulbs out of the car, so i still have some yellow in this one

 

Get some Sylvania Silverstar's. They don't make any for the turn signals & parking lights tho. Or, you could always go with HID's. I have the clear corners on mine. The lense is clear, but there is an orange film on the inside of the lense. I'd rather have it all clear with amber bulbs.

 

amber is not a strret legal turn signal in cali 91 hope U know that. I got puleld over 4 that. went to coaurt and still had to pay my ticket. :doh:

Hey I know everyone is messing with u about the wing...I will admit I like the JGTC style. Thats what I want to make my car look like. And the wing is a bit LARGE. But I will give u props that atleast the wing fits the lines of the car. It seems to flow with it, as opposed to the horrible lookin APC aluminum wings. If it was onw of those, then I would rag on you too about it. Looks good though, your creative and brave by tunin a Pontiac Grand-Am. I have't seem many of those being done, and that one looks good.

U actually know it a grand am. those are big *** props. everyone thinks is a friggin Mustang. but yah thanx for recognising. and by amber I ment red. mine where red cop told me fancy amber. so yeah. but myne use to be RED!!! which kicked ***. thamn porkers. ohh and the pontiac well that one is black and blue graphics so we put blue side markers that worked along with the turn signals. they where on the fenders. :burnout:
