Need help with my T-Tops
I need some help with my T-Tops. I have two questions. First: I just purchased some shades for my T-tops. I also purchased the the sun shade lock base (4 of them) they mount to. I'm having problems keeping the lock bases glued to the glass. I've tried and industrial epoxy and a rear view mirror glue. Nether has worked. I live in Georgia so it gets pretty hot in the car. I think the heat is melting the glue that I have provided. Does any one know what can be used to fasten the lock bases to the glass. Number two: I'm having leakes on both passenger and driver side In front part of t-tops and where t-tops and the front piller meet they only leak at the windows. I've had the door realigned and that didn't help. Does anyone have any ideas to help stop the water from coming in. Thank for any advise on either subject.

use 5 minute 2 ton epoxy. mic it evenly. 1:1 ratio, use jsut a little bit. before you glue them thouhg, mark out exactly where they are being placed, clean the area with alcohol. then etch the glass with sand paper, then clean it again very well with alcohol, dont let anything touch it now but the flue and base, let them sitt in normal temps for at least an hour. o make sure the alcohol is all dry though before you glue, obviously, but who knows what you think im thinking.

That was the epoxy I used. and it didn't work. it worked for about two days then when we had about a 100 degree day they just fell off. I did not sand the glass though, the little black circles on the t-tops seemed to have some what of a coarse surface. I did use alcohol to clean them. Do you have any other ideas?

trust me etch the glass a bit. otherwise no. epoxy is the strongest clue you can by, mabye it doesnt take well to glass. try cyanacrylate or however its spelled....CA glue, like ZAP, you know super glues, thats what most rearview mirrors are help on wiht. but etch the glass a bit. and look for high temp glues. usually epoxy isnt effected by temp. i know they have a higher temp epoxy i thinkk it has ceramic mixed with it, its white and black, instead of clear and yellow. i used that and it lasted on a model plane muffler stack until i punched the ground with it. nothing hard, just enough compression to knowck off hte clue joints. no real damage, im a good pilot.

I called Nissan and they told me to call a glass company and see what they use. Thanks for all the replies. Does any one know how to order the rubber seals that go around the windows, especially the ones that match up to the t-tops.
