a place for the t-tops

Does anyone else here have a big ol sub box, or something else, in the trunk and have found a way to keep the t-tops safe along with the luggage? Im afraid to put my t-tops back there cuz the sub box moves sometimes, and I cant leave them somewhere else. All I know is they arent gonna stay on the car with me in it.

I have the sub-box attached so that it doesn't move around. It not all that bg though. It's only about 1 cubic foot. The only other place would be on the car; which doesn't work for you. Maybe you could just leave them in the garage.

Those MTX subs require a lot of air. You could consider using something else that could fit in a smaller sub box.

I love my mtx subs. Im thinkin about getting another one or maybe just a higher model.
Ive also thought about cleaning out the spare tire area and making my own enclosure to free up some space.
I guess Im gonna anchor the box down for now and put the t-tops on either side

You could make 2 custom enclosures. Put 1 sub on each side and have it fit in the area behind the rear speakers.

yea ive thought about doing that too. but i dont know if it will be pushing enough air for my subs. they will have to be pretty big
i think im just gonna go with the spare tire dig up and mold to the area

There's plenty of backpressure for the subs in that setup. I've heard that digging out the spare tire well isn't the best idea because it's made out of metal and doesn't resonate (or something like that).

do you know what the cf is on that box?
im planning on using the same kind of wood that is used to make the sub boxes so it shouldnt be a problem

Those boxes are fairly similar to the 1 that I have. I bet they're in the ballpark of 1 cubic foot. My amp sit in the same place also. That's a nice set-up. How much do those sub boxes run? There's also this setup for a single sub.

ooo i like the JL Audio box for my car, the 2+2.
it sits under the rear floorboard in place of the headlight aiming tools outta sight.
Ingenious!!

I'm sure I'm going to feel stupid in a moment, but what headlight aiming tool?

In the hatch area of a 2+0 (don't know about the 2+2), one of the trim peices (the one to the left of the carpet panel) pops off to reveal a container with some strange tools in it. The tools are headlight aiming devices that are used in conjunction with a machine at the dealership to adjust your headlights.

Just an idea....Are the T-top straps long enough to secure your sub-box? If so, then it would probably look better than bungee cords.

haha thanx Z1
yea man 2 and a half hours...i dont know about you but that was a long time to spend washing and waxing my car cleaning the interior only took about 15 minutes but the shine was amazing
i used the Meguiars 3 step wax. it works great
anyways no the t-top straps arent long enough. i feel soo ghetto with some bungee cords in my car. next week ill probably use them to keep my hood closed and the front bumper on. i really got to get rid of them. my dad has a plan of bolting a metal bar on the bolts in the very back and fasten them to each side of the sub box to keep it anchored without drilling any holes anywhere. and i guess im gonna have to put the t-tops on that little ledge cuz theres still not enough room in the back for them.
and 91 i left the t-tops in the garage today. i had no choice

Things could be worse. You could have a Civic instead of your Z.
