my really good friends girlfriend's dad has an NSX. does good body work owns a shop, i dont trust him for turd on mechanical stuff though after having a conversation with him once.... it was emmbarrasing for him, to me, lol. and those rear rims are TOOO big it makes the rear brakes look like childs play, lol. besides that, there is a feeling of asymetry when you see the whole car and if i didnt know it was the rims i wouldnt be able to tell you, just mention it. i still say 17's the ride will be soo much better.

You like the left rear quarter of the nsx in the pics above? My friend just bought it and some dumb ho hit that side. Not too bad though, but I think it's just another reason to keep'em off the road.

He's got 275's on the rear. His wheel is only 19 x 8 though. My buddies NSX however, has some hella gay wheels on it now, but He just got SSR GT3's 19 x 10 rear. Those wheels make it mean something to be a 275.

Wow....19x8's with 275's....that just doesn't seem that it would fit right. I've got 275's on 9.5's.
I did notice that when I switched from Michelin Pilot Sport 275's over to Goodyear F1 275's, the Goodyears are noticeable wider. I wonder if maybe those Falkens run on the narrow side.
The 19's are way too big....it looks silly.

I have 18s all around on my car, 245's up front ad 275's in the back running BFgoodrich KDWs all around (ohio rains a lot ) and except for a tiny bit of rubbing on the front left cause it sits about 1/4 inch lower on that side (adjustable shocks) same length shocks but the car just sits a tiny bit lower on the driver side (probably cause of the driver) I have no problem with 18's i don't think they look bad, or too big, I don't think 17's look bad or two small, but when i look at 16s i think, wow, those are tiny. I too think that 19 on the back/18 up front on your friends car looks kinda bad, that car just doesn't look like it sits right...

OK, here are some pics of my Z wheels
Just so you don't go speculating 245/40s up front and 275/35 in back BF Goodrich KDW2s all around, and even though it looks low, it's not much lower than stock ride height, I have aftermarket coilovers that are height adjustable, and I have about 150lbs. of stuff in the back so it is actually sitting about 1/2 inch lower than it normally does.

Oh, and about wheel choice, remember, get the wheels that make you feel good about spending that kind of money, don't get them cuase someone else thinks they are cool, that philosophy lead to the end of the Roman empire.

yup
but I have all the same size rims all the way around... all 9.5's the 245's sit different compared to the 275's, the sidewall is slanted on the 245's and on the 275's its straight up and down. I measured the height of the tires the rear is just slightly over a quarter (1/4th) of an inch shorter than the front. If I went to 35's on the front it would only exacerbate the slanting problem(of the sidewalls). I might go to 40s in the back next time but the suspension travel is a little further in the back and I like having the extra 5 millimeters on such a wide tire.

Am I reading your question right? Are you confused about why the sidewall of the tire slants in from the top of the wheel on your 245's and it doesn't on the 275's? If you have 9.5's all the way around, then the 245's will slant in at the top because it's a narrower tire. That wheel is too wide for those tires. You should have gone with a narrower wheel if you didn't want it to look like that. 275 40's are too big in the rear BTW. It is my understanding that the 40 is tire height....it is 40% of the width of the tire. Am I right on that???

tire heights
245x 0.35 is 85.75
275x 0.35 is 96.25
245x 0.40 is 98
I went with the closest ratio's and the tire slants in slightly at 245/40 its height would be 10mm less with 35's making it slant in more. As it is, its not bad. 245/40s up front are very close to the same tire height as 275/35's in the rear. They are just a bit taller but I have hieght adjustable suspension so I can still make the car sit correctly. Just look at the pictures.
Oh, and 91zxtt, I didn't have the question, it was Murph z32 wondering if he would have the same tire heights all the way around keeping the same series tires. I have no idea if he plans to put wider on the back (tire wise) but I assumed so cause he wanted larger rims on the back.
Riz, if you keep the center of the wheel (in relation to stock) close to the same then you shouldn't need adjustable links for camber compensation. that's the beauty of keeping the OD of the wheel the same and fully adjustable suspension. figure stock 225 is 608.9mm total height and 245/40 is 653.2mm total height...if you adjust your center up 0.885 inches you will be back to sitting at stock height. Generally you will need to start worrying about camber adjustments when you change the center of the wheel over an inch ( up or down). Always get an alignment after you do suspension/wheel work and let the professionals tell you how out of wack your camber is before you spend monies on unnessicary parts.

if you are trying to go a bit cheaper than Volks have a look at A.Z.A. Z-1
