Has anyone used this adapter to put 12.8" 350z rotors on their z32?

looks like a cost effective brake upgrade. How do I know if I have 30mm calipers?

 

hmmm, i could whip something like that up for a lot less than $210, if i got off my lazy *** and figured out some dimensions that is.

 

<BR>30mm calipers are on all TT's, and NA's with production dates after 7/90, the 89-90 production n/a calipers were 26mm, also as a side note, aluminum calipers were used through 6/92?(It was somewhere in the middle of 92), where they were switched to 30mm iron calipers

 

Well, unless you have an early production 1990 N/A (like me)... then you have the 30mm calipers.

Before I linked a guy at http://www.megaz.net/ and I know he can help you there. Contact him. They did some conversions with 350 brakes and rotors. Some good results, too.

 

I agree that is way to much to pay....That would be cool if we found the dimensions, then we could do like a group buy and get them super cheap. Maybe I sould PM canyoncarver and see if he has the deminsions... and maybe we could do something for the rear because that would look wired to have huge rotors on the front and small ones in the rear. BTW: he is selling them on ebay for a little more than if you preorder them on his site

let us know dimensions? Nice, I just got new rims so next on my list are bigger brakes. Guys over at the 300zxclub told me not to do that (they didn't really back it up on why)....but my car isn't a track car so any improvment in brakeing would make me happy.

Bernie's kit does not require these 3 items: Nismo 50mm wheelstuds, Hubcentric locating rings, or Hubcentric spacing rings.

The rotors wheels and calipers all fit properly with just the caliper relocating bracket.

 

Let me ask you a question. Can you lock up your wheels under brakeing. If so a larger rotor or bigger caliper wont really stop your car sooner. Those items give better braking under high stress conditions, of repeated heavy use of the brakes, by being able to disapate heat better. If you want to occasionally (panic stop on the street) be able to stop in a shorter distance, get better tires.

 

Hopefully you can't lock up your brakes, otherwise your abs isn't working properly. ..... In going to the larger brakes and using the rbf600 fluid, I'm hoping to reduce the amount of brake fade I get after 10 minutes or so of hard driving. I am debating between the StopTech 2-piece or single piece rotorz or hoping to connect with a friend at a nissan dealer that told me they get stock Brembo take-offs from new Z buyers that upgrade their brakes.

And it is good to have friends, and if that is the case get the calipers too, and you won't even need the brackets, the whole thing will bolt right up

Nayet, waiting to spend the money on the rotorz. Then I can come up with the dimensions for the brackets.

I would like to buy some cheaper than 250 bux if thats possible from someone.

Also I just want stiffer brakes. I can lock up the brakes. I just got a good set of tires and some 18" rims. Now I want to fill in some of the dead space with bigger rotors. Im also going to use better brake fluid and get some braided brake lines and hawk pads. Thats what I plan on doing anyways.

yeah they do, now if i could only find a CHEAP brake upgrade that would fit under the stock wheels.

 

Nice...so tell us more. How did the brakes feel afterwards. Also what brand of brake rotors did you use and where did you get them?
