Frame Rail
Hi,
I just purchased (last Weekend) a 1990 300ZX 2 + 2 that has been modified and a TT engine has been dropped in. As with any modification there are minor glitches that I am fixing. In the process of removing the under car neon kit I saw something that was quite disturbing.
Where the Sub Frame mounts to the Frame Rails in the rear end is rusing, I don't know if you can visualize or not, there are 4 bolt on each side that hold the subfram to the frame rail. They are mounted to a gussett (???) 2 in front of the wheel and 2 in the rear.
Will the entire frame rail have to be replaced or are they seperate pieces allowing me just to replace the gussett?
Thnx to anyone that can be of help.
Chris
I will be taking photos of it today if someone has an idea of what I am talking about but tould like to see pics, let me know and Iwill email them to you.

Sub Frame / Frame rail mounting - Photos
Here is a photo of the problem area taken through the rims of the rear tire, a larger image can be found at Sub Frame Rust
Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Chris

It's tough to tell. I'd go in there with a grinder to get it back to the good metal, then weld patch plates onto it. Looks like your subframe bushings are beyond wrecked. Nice adjustable upper control arms though. Are those from SPL?
