I've have those "crap" raybestos rotors on my mothers GTO at the track and have used them to the point where they where glowing bright orange, enough to the point where the brake fluid was overheating, each lap takes around 60 minutes, one part is all up hill, the other parts are tight steep downhill turns with nice long straits in between, those "crap" rotors has survived more abuse then any street rotor i have ever used or seen. and on the other hand, i have personally warped around three sets of front (two cracked) and two rear high end brembo rotors on my bike, as well as several friends. brembo has some nice stuff, but unfortunately its for the track, as i would never take a brake kit designed for racing and track use and put it on the street.

It's still Raybestocrap. You never know what your getting. Some are good. Some are bad. There's nothing like putting on new rotors and then having to get them turned after a few heat cycles.

Please show me a track that takes 60 minutes per lap. I want to drive it.

60 minutes per lap? I'll raise the bullsh*t flag on that one. Maybe 60 minutes to walk. Not even the Nurburgring comes close to that.

look up highway 74 in southern california, has all banked corners, no bumps, dips or cracks and takes more skill to drive it correctly at speed, then any track i have been too.

lol Sounds to me that "any track you have been too" is limited to the drag strip.

I won't be taking my brake advice from you, that's for sure.

I'll reiterate my initial judgement.....bullsh*t.

I've driven that road. I recall seeing someone in a GTO. They drove like a real a$$hole...you know, one of those people that think they can drive but really don't know an apex from their elbow. It could've been you. I was driving a rented Neon and had to pass you on the right since you wouldn't get the hell out of my way.

that would be funny, if it where a two lane road.

so how many injectors have you replaced this week? im assuming your z32 wasnt running again, so thats why you where driving a neon?

Oh, that's right....I must have the road confused with some other racer wannabe in his Mommy's GTO. I'm still a little confused with your original statement....why would you be taking Mommy's GTO to the track, er um I mean to the highway, instead of your own Z?

If I had actually spent more than 5 minutes in the past 6 months working on car then I may take offense to that statement.

You're still full of sh*t with your brakes on Mommy's GTO.

Hwy 74 is a ***** road. Just fine for those raybestocraps. I'd bet your mom's car doesn't have much pedal left after 10 minutes on the streets of willow.

oh and BTW i have driven on both the circle track and the street of willow, (also the goat lasted about 5 laps before the tires where destroyed) as well as the road course at california speedway and done a few laps at mazda speedway. and yes, the sandiego side of 74 is fairly boring.

and this "Racer wannabe" that you claim i am 91zx has probably had more seat and driving time, as well as building and tuning experience then you have ever had your entire life.

doesn't make you good... I've seen people with tons of track time got smoked by first timers...

and to keep it thread related, kas, did you decide on a brake kit yet?

I just have a hard time believing that your mom let you take her goat out. Was she the one driving?

yarp. i'm failry certain i'm going with the over-sized kit that fits inside stock wheels. it's a couple months off yet though

i won't be having any problems keeping that thing clean snw. it's "platinum covered". i guess it's pretty shinny. not chrome shinny though.
