Specialty Z brake kit....

After one week with the new Specialty Z brakes, bedding them in and then yesterday giving them a thorough thrashing, I can tell you that they are indeed a substantial performance upgrade over the OE sized slotted/drilled Brembo rotors and Metal Master pads packages available. I’m sure this kit doesn’t compare to the other huge by large brake upgrade kits available for the Z-32, bang for the buck AND the ability retain OE N/A and turbo wheels, this is as good as it gets. Before I purchased the Specialty Brake kit, (2 piece front BAER rotors, Baer rear rotors, “The Brake Man” metallic pads, and stainless brake lines), I spent some time on the phone and E-mail with Sebastian and Greg Dupree discussing this brake kit with them. Just as Greg said, long after the Brembo brakes and metal master pads would be faded, pulsing, these brakes kept slowing the car time after time and the only thing I noticed was some increased pedal effort, just as Greg described. The brakes were EXTREMELY hot after this thrashing! The rotors were blue, pads were smoking, no hot spots on the rotors, and the brakes still feel excellent, other than my busted brake booster diaphragm. (I did give the brakes a good 10+ mile cool down before I parked it). during and after the thrashing, there were NO pulsations, no growling, etc, the brakes just kept working corner after corner. Dusting on the wheels is also VERY minimal. Another bonus of the Specialty Z brake kit, get this, the front rotors are 5 lbs lighter than the Brembo rotors EACH!! For the track drivers among us, 5 lbs of unsprung weight reduction per wheel is substantial!

If your driving habits are extreme enough that you outpace the OE brakes or Brembo/Metal Master set up and want to retain the OE wheels, definitely consider this brake kit. For little more than the Brembo/Metal master kits, this kit is a true brake performance upgrade, on a couple levels.

Good Looking Kit

I got the same jack stands at home, I bet you purchased them at Harbor Freight Tools. I think I saw that color (of your car) on a late model Altima. Cheers!
