300zx na to tt motor?!?
So right after high school I get money from my grandparents and parents for graduation. Immediately I tell my dad I want to purchase my first car. Now my dad is a nice guy and he walks through what cars are good and why dealerships **** you in your ***. So we stumble across a 1990 300zx naturally aspirated 5 speed at a local dealership. Now I play forza 4 and I race my twin turbo online all the time it's my favorite car. So eventually in the long run I bought the car and my dad consigning for me. Now I joined the national guard and leave for basic in August and ait in January so I get to drive and enjoy it for the summer. Me and my dad started talking about twin turbo swaps and found out they were more expensive than we thought. So my dad sayed how about when you get back from basic we buy a used twin turbo engine and fix it up ourselves grow some things into it and have it be that. Know my dad worked on his cars when he was kid, boring out his mustang engine and what not. So he said it could be a family project.
We looked online for tt motors Jdm are what they are called I guess? But we found one bidding for 1,360 dollars. The auction doesn't end until October which is when I get back and plus my money goes into my pay for the military.
My question to you guys are what do we need to know about doing this motor swap my dad says we can do and is it a good idea or not? Plus I'm sure well be having a mechanic drop it in in the future as we don't have an engine pulley thingy lol. I honestly don't trust my dad with engines because I haven't watched him but because I could still drive my car I'm willing to do this.
Any feedbacks to is this a good idea?
