300zxtt vs 280zxt build

Hey guys, this is my first post. my question is which car would you build.

what i have is
1) 1983 280zx turbo 5 speed / 2 owner 93k origional mi
2) 1992 300zx twin turbo auto / 3 owner car 180k miles

the only other thing i have is a 2jz gte that i am going to install in one of them.

what i am tring to build is a 800whp street bruiser. i have one car in mind i just want to see if my intuitions are correct. let me know what you think.

Welcome to ZDriver!

This is a personal preference type of question... they are your cars... what do YOU want?

The 280zx is more of a retro "nostalgic Japanese" car these days. The Z32 is a modern day car. Apples and oranges.

Well if it's just to see what other people are thinking, I'd say the 280ZX. Looks like a better candidate for such a build in terms of unexpectedness. Is that an S15 in the background of the Z32 photo?

Operation MY Z-ZEN

Ok i decided to go wih the 300zx But.... with a twist after research i found that the Vg30 engine does not hold a lot of power sooo i am going to do a swap. with what i think for a car with crazy potenital. i should build a drivetrain with crazy potential. after talking to several shops and doing research. the most recommended engines were rb26 and 2JZgte. so i decided to go with the 2JZGTE. both were very good motors but, parts for the 2j were easier to get because that engine came in various cars. plus it takes to mods really well up to 1000hp stock bottom end. and so i would not punk out i went and brought the engine. and the start of Operation MY Z-ZEN

Hehe I mean the red one "behind" the Camaro/Firebird (can never tell the difference between those two).

And I just realized it might be a Dodge Stealth.

Toy

A toy motor in a Nissan, that is sacrilege, worse than dropping in a V8, you must have more money than sense.
