90 300 missing/not runnin advice needed
I bought this car not running and the women I bought it from really wouldn't tell me much about it on what happen to make the car not run. I've had several z32s and z31s so its not new to me but I can't figure out this one. When I got it it was fuel loged and the starter was burnt out from them tryin to start it so I replaced the starter, oil and spark plugs and got it to run but its only running on cylinders 3 and 6. I have replaced the computer, cas, ignitor and checked the timing belt and it is spot on and check the compression and they have 175psi except #3 has 125psi which is one that its runnin on. I checked the plugs after I had it runnin and all of them are black except number one is still white and wet. I can pull the other 4 coil packs off and it runs exactly the same and I checked everyone and they have great fire and when I unplug the variable valve timing sensors it runs a very little better and over around 3grand 1 other cylinder trys to kick in but it doesn't smoke or anything. I was hoping someone has had a simalair problem or any advice on where to start trouble shooting. I know there's mechanical damage/valve problems on cylinder 3 but im more concerned about the not running right so I can drive it to see what else is bad on the car. Any advice or. Just a point in the right direction is greatly appreciated and sorry for such a long post

by any chance is the valve tapping? and have you tried to drive it like this? Im asking bc i also bought a 90 na that had problems with a tap. thought it was a lifter. I knew it had a misfire also. replaced plugs an injectore where i had the mis and tried to start it and my tap became a knock and i read that the valves in these are made of "inferior" metal which deteriorate over time. Aldo my knock (detonation) sensor has been bypassed so its not throwing a code and i now has a mis in cylinder #'s 1 2 4. #3 is intermittent those. My friend said it may be running in safe mod from the knock and to sell it. Cant find an in depth reason and info regarding it before i open everything up. lots of parts too loss while i work outside in the cold lol

i understand that bc im running on 3 and its not easy to drive. i figured id ask bc i cant find anyone with advice. i bought mine it had a mis and a tap. replaced the pugs and injector for the cylinder havin the mis and now the taps a knock and now im running on 3. which is what the knock sensor would cause to do. if the engine makes no noise how do you know theres a problem internally?

is this an early Z32? if you have the square topped injectors, don't bother replacing them. you should update to the later oval top injectors. you're setting yourself up for more injector failures 10-20k down the road if you put new square tops in

I know the early style are prone to troubles but I just can't see spending that kind of money on stock injectors u can almost buy a used motor with new style injectors for as much as the injectors and adapters but I was wondering if using a fuel additive like the new lucas ethanol protector would help or make them last longer
