I have never seen one Z owner use one of those. But im sure there are some that do. I would try and research it a bit more and see the real benefits of it.

I do know that apexi makes great car computer stuff . Have had many friends using there stuff for many years.

That paticular devise would not watch anything of real value to you.

Put that 200 dollars towards a function rich boost controller Blitz IBC III color. You already have a speedometer?

Read the thread before you respond dude. The last thing you would use that for is a speedo. There is no metion of him wanting ebc. The unit in question is a diagnostic tool night and day difference from a boost controller. Next time you post make some sense.

yea, i was looking at it and it would be a bit more functional then having 20 different gauges all over the place.

I would be a bit leary, I'm going the route of the Greddy Emanage Ultimate Piggyback ECU / JWT Chip + Greddy E01 Boost controller. This has significant advantages over the normal boost controller + JWT ECU and the E01 lets you record your data to a CF card to take it in to show when you are having problems.

It's a bit more than $200 though, and that's probably a pretty decent util to spot check, you can get the Techtom MDM-100 as well I think cheaper.

Yea, I read the thread captain. The Apexi unit is simply some bling-bling glorified gauge, to make you dash light up pretty. IMHO, it shows some useful things, but not many?

The unit displays:
Vehicle Speed (So does your speedo)
Engine RPM both in real-time and peak hold (The peak hold is the only benefit here)
Injector Pulse in percentages (Percentages??)
Airflow Percentages (Again Percentages??)
Ignition Timing (Good)
Horsepower Display (How do they get this number, probably percentages.)
Torque Display (How do they get this number, probably percentages.)
Air-Fuel (Auhh no it doesn’t)
Alerts driver to shift points (not only does it glow, it makes sounds)
Alarm when flow meter or injectors reach capacity (why?)

i like the A/F ratio and the MAF and injector capacity could really come in handy. i tune my car evey now and then with a lap top and dyno.

Hum,

That’s exactly my point. This unit does not allow you to watch the things you consider it valuable for. It will not let you watch A/F. It would on many other cars, but not the Z32. Not unless you have upgraded your stock O2’s to wideband O2’s that is.

The MAF and Injector capacity readings are displayed in percentages. I would be VERY reluctant to tune my Z with percentages, makes it go POP!

What I suggested here is a boost controller. But have you looked at what all it does. It is basically the old Blitz boost controller, and the old Blitz VIT unit combined into one unit. This has all the functionality of the Apexi unit and more. Plus its the best boost controller on the market combined into a very up-market looking piece. IMHO

Profec E01 + Ultimate Emanage = USB cable to tune and much better control over the entire system.
