Caught my z smoking
and she's only 13. I'm so ashamed. Anyway... for the last few weeks and only once or twice a week, when I first start my car in the morning white smoke comes out the tail pipes for a min then doesnt show up for a few days. It's a 92 TT. Just wondering if this is a get ready to replace engine/turbos/$$$ sign or maybe something more tolerable.
Thx all.

From my experience that little bit-o-smoke is from the valve guide seals wearing out. I don't know about the turbo cars tho. A compression test will give you the best idea as to the condition of your motor. If the motor seems to run fine and your compression numbers aren't too bad, you could just replace the seals if the smoke bothers you. It's not a real easy job but it's something you could do at your next timing belt change. The first signs of smoke are a sign that things are wearing out. Depending on how many miles you drive, it might be o.k. as it is for another five years.
