chasing down dead cylinder problem

hey guys newer to the forum havent been on in a while but last time i was on here its was about a back fire on my car its a 1990 300zx tt now still have the problem havent driven it at all in the last month or so because of it i did a balance test cylinder 1&3 are bad checked the injector there around 14 ohms any ideas of what to go to next coils are good brand new wires and harness for the whole engine now it does still have the old style injectors and fuel rail in it but ohms are good so i dont think it would be that i just dont know where to go to next any help would be great

o and i did notice there is a connector right behind the plenum on the driver side that isnt plugged into anything ill take a picture and put it up

New to writing, as well? Because you should practice the same rules of writing that you do when writing anything formal (from middle school English papers to professional reports for your CEO or stockholders).

That looks like an injector connector to me.

If its in the back of the motor why dont you look for the part on the motor that doesnt have something connected to it?

ptus were recalled, so unless its a swap, get it done.

the ptu already had the recall done. All the injector wires are plugged in and there arent any other connectors hanging loose. could it be a spare for an accessorie?

It wouldn't be hangin loose, it would be a sensor like the iac or something in the back

That connector is not used on the Z32. (Little known fact - car companies will make general parts that fit on several models with different features, to keep costs down... :gasp: )

Regarding testing the PTU, disconnect it, clean all connectors, reconnect, see what happens.
