Could it be a clutch problem?
*I posted this on 300ZXclub.com but it's kind of slow there.
I've only had the z for about a month. I started to notice some problems when driving it. One problem is when at a stop light sometimes i press the clutch and put it into 1st gear. When the light turns green sometimes the clutch is really stiff coming up. But once you start driving again it goes back to a normal feel. The previous owner put an aftermarket clutch but i'm not sure what kind. Could the problem be that it wasn't bled properly? It doesn't really bother me but i just want to know what's going on.

Like emo said... sprung release? Under the dash there is an assist spring that helps the clutch pedal return............. HERE
Maybe it's broke or off.
I have seen hydraulic cylinders that leak past the main seals, but know leaks outside of the cylinder. I've also had an issue on my Z with the clutch when I'm trying to go really slow up a rough dirt road. If I use the clutch too much, I loose about 3/4 of the pedal. Meaning that the pedal will go thru 3/4 of it's travel before the clutch starts to disengage. That's a definite sign of a leaky cylinder. All is well after a few continuous pumps.
