Hey can someone help

I just bought my z32 today. its a 1996 300zx nonturbo. its 105 out of 300 so its says. has 95000 miles on it very clean. I have always been into trucks ive had 3 ford lightnings and i finally sat back one night and said i need a change so here i am. It seems like a beautiful car. I was just wondering for some ideas since i dont know what would be best place to start. I dont plan on doing to much to it right now but i do plan on it for the further. i would like to make it sick with performance. i was just curious what you guys thought and where i should go just throw in the tt engine or leave this engine and throw in turbos or rb26 ls1? or do i just go to exhause and little stuff like that? please let me know. should i go to precautions first like to prepare it for the future with parts.

TT swap. LS1's belong in domestics and RB26's have no real-world benefit over the VG30DETT unless you consider a loss of 400cc's a benefit. VG30DETT's belong in Z32's, and that's all there is to it.

Very clean Z, by the way. How much did you end up paying for it?

yeah. very nice clean car. why does it have a tt fascia?

one that nice pretty much warrants a tt swap. it's a pretty big job, mostly because of all the parts you have to get. turns out to be about $5k minimum to use all stock parts. some have done it cheaper by getting good deals and using all used parts, but if you want to do it well, expect $10k.

btw, how do you like that garage floor paint? i see a few chips. does it just peel off after a while or does it take some work to knock it off?

thanks guys i paid 6000 for it. yeah i see where your coming from bout the ls1 and rb26. i think it sticks pretty well but you cant spin your wheel to much in the garage or it will chip as you can see. my mom likes to redirect herself while in driveway enhence why you have the chip in the garage

it is his Z, don't let the photo's fool you i've seen it in real life haha jk even with its minor rear bumper clear coat issue i like the car alot. he isn't to fond of the body though. also, that is a mighty fine and clean Z32. being an NA im not opposed to the RB or LS1 swap idea... if it was a TT i'd internet smack you for thinking that. most of us would also advise sell the NA and buy a TT, but for a body THAT clean, you might actually even out in the expense for the TT swap compared to buying a TT in the same condition. MAYBE. also, where about are you located in this country?

well i thought bout taking the n/a ouf of the car and swaping out with the TT but i think im going to just buy the TT when im ready and save the n/a so when it comes to being an antique or what not and able to sell it for alot more money being stock. ofc i would have to put everything back to stock but im thinking bou tsaving everything that i take out and then in 7 or 8 years return back to stock and sell. im in florida west palm beach.

lol, i didnt even notice all the palm trees in the pictures. haha. yeah, thats an ok plan, but, i think if you wanted to do that, getting a mint TT would be the best idea. but who buys a car to look at. you should probably go with one or the other, unless you got the garage space an money to let one investment act as a museum piece haha.

woot^^. sounds like a good plan to keep that one stock because it's so nice. it is appreciating now, and it will continue to. it also sounds like a good idea to turbo swap it, because it is so nice. it's all up to you. i think you got the info you needed when we told you that the swap is possible for a bit of money, and that the tt vg is in most cases the best engine for the job, correct?

Whenever you decide you want to sell that car, contact me. I would gladly rip the guts out of my TT and put them in that car.

And yes, my car runs nice and makes a lot of power, but the body looks far better in pictures than in real life. It has the oxidation mod for progressively shedding weight.

By the way, Eric... meet this Sunday. Check ChicagoZ for details.

i saw, but its going to rain sunday and i wanted to ride the bike since i would feel wierd bringing the talon (if it starts up and its not broken in, DAMN HEAD GASKETS!) so i probably wont show this time. which sucks cause its probably going to be epically huge. but i got work and i doubt i can get out of it, especially for a rainy day meet with no Z haha. but anything could happen, take pictures either way and post em up.

they're all rusty those chicago people think they know how to take care of cars, but.... well you heard. jk jk

anyway, you, z32(racer), should go to the znationals in september. it's held at Z1 motorsports in september and there will be a huge turn out. it will be great. there is a track day, a drag strip day, and a show day. it's free to show, and i don't guess it will be too terribly far from you considering that people come from canada for this show.

the one in georgia? since its the only one that came up when i googled it. Sept what? as long as i can get work off definately would love to go to it. I used to go to the big lightning shows they had but would be different to go with the ZX. Yeah same down here its alot of shitty cars that think they are fast cause they have exhaust and rims and system

ive never been able to make the first annual chicago Z meet but from what i read theres something over 200 cars i think they said? alot of 350'z im guessing though and they also hosted some other Z fest here that i took the datsun to, but to the dyno day/BBQ, i missed the show, cause it rained, but it apparently was pretty huge to.

Quit being a little bitch and just go, Eric. I'm driving my *** 250 miles to be there. Andy J (a guy who comes out maybe once a year) should be there. Almost every Z32 owner on CZ will be there. Etc.

Cold? We have hoards of people who die annually from heat strokes. There is rarely a summer without heat warnings and temps above 100.

And Chicago is huge, to say the least about it.

How am I driving 250 miles? It's called a car... duh.

well that's one very fluctuating climate. it's a much narrower range down here. we range from 10-95, occasionally 100, and you range from -20-100.
