I don't like bronze wheels on really any car... they look like gold wheels that nobody cleaned for a year.

oh. edit to my post up there with all the sizes: the 17x10's on the rear i believe is only limited if the car is a turbo. they say the hicas knuckle is what prevents there, so on your N/A, it should fit fine.

lol good point. i really wasn't thinking about the necessity of my clarification, just thinking about bringing clarity to my post.

anyway, would it hurt to put 9's on an n/a just to improve handling? you sure don't need them for the take offs, but it sure would handle well.

Branson Z fest is in Branson, MO. www.bransonzfest.com it's a reasonably big show. 100 + cars there.

a healthy stock bottom end can usually hold 600 for a while. but it won't last as long as if it were stock. so it depends what turbos you want to upgrade to. i would recommend doing some other mods first though before you jump right to new turbos, because when you do do the new turbos, you will need a lot of other supporting mods at the same time. i'm just saying get the supporting mods first to an extent. that's my mentality. the pros may say different.

the reason for doing supporting mods first is to protect the motor which is a good idea

Nope. You're right.

If the car is driven like a human being and only played with occasionally, it'll hold in the area of 600rwhp just fine. The more you use your power, the faster things wear... so if you beat on the car frequently, it will die. And there is a LONG path leading to aftermarket turbos... and it's lined with first making sure that your engine is healthy to begin with, and then a whole lot of supporting mods.

I know nothing of your car, so here's the list of what any aftermarket turbo requires:

Intake (at least single pop, dual pop with second MAF and AFC recommended)
Cat-back (downpipes are dependent on which turbo setup you get)
Test pipes never hurt unless you're unfortunate enough to live in Cali
ECU (JWT or ZTuner, properly setup for your arrangement)
740cc/min injectors (no reason to go with 555's when 740's are same cost)
boost controller
intercoolers (SIDE MOUNT)
clutch (and may as well do a flywheel)
I'm sure I'm forgetting things but I have some work to do so I'll post back if I think of more.

And that's ignoring things like a 60k/120k kit if needed and things of that sort to get the engine to where it should be.

thats pretty much it. I'd also replace all stock seals so you can run synthetic oil, and probably upgrade the oil cooler as well. Bigger turbos are obviously going to put off more heat (as if turbos don't already, i've seen them glowing cherry hot before), and that heat is going to soak into your motor, so a bigger radiator might also be recomended.

Cooling mods are never a bad idea.

And as for how hot it can get under there... (@44sec)

why would you weld it? that just makes it a pain removing it in the future for doing other mods (like drive shaft, or transmission removal)

i heard it was better to ensure no exhaust leaks. but thihnking of it like that making it difficult to do other mods does seem pointless.

with a good flange and a new gaskets you won't have any problem. exhaust leaks are bad, but they aren't the end of the world. i recommend against getting the cat-back welded on.

dont weld anything together you dont have to trust me the guy who had my car previously welded the entire thing together so to do anything i have to dissconnet both sides from the headers. and drop the entire thing its a huge pain in the ***
